Every now and then I come across a quote that I really like, and I figure others probably have some favorites too.
Here's one I came across recently: It is a poor cause which has to be lied for regularly. Katharine Fullerton Gerould, Modes and Morals. |

Crash Davis: Well, I believe in the soul, the cock, the pussy, the small of a woman's back, the hanging curve ball, high fiber, good scotch, that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent, overrated crap. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days.
Herb Brooks while addressing his future Miracle on Ice Squad before a big game: You think you can win on talent alone....gentlemen, you don't have enough talent to win on talent alone. (a line i've used on some of my teams by the way...it works)

I'm not good with quotes really. I normally go for the 'funny' ones as apposed to the serious ones. But still, here's a couple of the 'serious' quotes I can remember.
"The most wasted of all days is one without laughter." - (Google says E.E Cummings) "Love all, trust a few. Do wrong to none." - (Shakespeare. It's from a play, not sure which one.) "Try not to become a man of success but rather to become a man of value." (Einstein) And one of my favourite 'funny' quotes. From Woody Allen; "There are worse things in life than death. Have you ever spent an evening with an insurance salesman?" Got a little help from a quote site to make sure everything was correct. |

Yeah, Woody Allen's films have a lot of great lines. A couple that I like:
"Perform sex? Uh, I don't think I'm up to a performance, but I'll rehearse with you, if you like." - Sleeper. "There's nothing wrong with you that a little Prozac and a polo mallet can't cure." - Manhattan Murder Mystery. "And Nietzsche, with his theory of eternal recurrence. He said that the life we lived we're gonna live over again the exact same way for eternity. Great. That means I'll have to sit through the Ice Capades again." - Hannah and her Sisters. |

Didn't Woody Allen also say:
"There's Nothing Wrong with masturbation... At least it's Sex with Somebody I Love!" My own quote is: "Never Put Off Until Tomorrow What You Can Get Out of Doing All Together... But if You Have To Do It, Then Do It NOW!"
